It all began in 2016, after Elizabeth Perks' breast cancer diagnosis and treatment in 2015. Through rehabilitation, Liz discovered a love of sports. She wanted to give something back. So, she and her daughter Charlotte-Rose decided to train for the 2016 Austrian Women's Run to raise money for people touched by breast cancer. They decided to support the organization Europa Donna Austria. When Liz's dearest friends, who helped her through her difficult time, heard about it, they immediately joined in. The Amazons were born.
